We offer a complete CNC aluminum machining service and can produce complex aluminum parts with 13 different types of aluminum. Aluminum parts are great for applications that require high strength, corrosion resistance, heat tolerance, low weight, electrical conductivity, and overall versatility.
Aluminum Material: CNC Aluminum Machining
Aluminum is soft, lightweight, tractable, malleable, and durable metal. Its appearance is silver or dull grey and depends on the roughness of the surface. It lacks magnetic properties and its non-flammable. The aluminum metal melts at 640 degrees, and it’s light with a density of 2.68. CNC machining produces parts with excellent mechanical properties, accuracy and repeatability from metal and plastic. 3-axis & 5-axis CNC milling available. It is a good conductor of electricity though not of the same standard as copper on specific cross-section area and is widely used in automotive CNC like ATV, Aerospace and medical industries.
What Aluminum Grade Should Be Used?
The most common aluminum CNC alloy that you should considering for your machining projects as follow:
Aluminum 2024: The characteristics of aluminium2024 ishigh hardness, also the content of copper is the highest, about 3-5%. 2024 series aluminium barmost common used for Aviation material, which is not often used in conventional industry at present.
Aluminum 5052: The main characteristics are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation. It can be easily drawn or formed into intricate shapes, Suitable for bending and welding.
Aluminum 6061: This grade is mainly contains magnesium and silicon, so it concentrates the advantages of the aluminum of 4000 series and 5000 Series, 6061 is a cold-treated aluminium forging product, which is suitable for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. 6061 has good usability, easy coating and good workability which make it to be the most popular aluminum alloy for CNC machining.
Aluminum 6063: Commonly known as an architectural alloy. It is suitable for all kinds of industrial structural parts with high strength and corrosion resistance, such as trucks, tower buildings, ships, trams, railway vehicles, furniture, machinery parts, precision die manufacturing, electronic parts and CNC precision machining parts, SMT, PC board soldering tin carrier electronics, etc.
Aluminum 7075: This is commonly known as “super hard aluminium”, one of the highest strength aluminum alloys. Good mechanical properties and anodize reaction, but it is not weldable and has limited resistance to corrosion, it is ideally used for highly stressed parts, representative uses are aerospace, die processing, mechanical equipment, tooling fixtures, especially for manufacturing. Aircraft structures and other high-stress structures requiring high strength.
The two main types of CNC (computer numerical control) machining systems are milling and turning . Due to the characteristics of each machine type, milling and turning are each uniquely ideal for manufacturing different geometries.

Learn MoreCNC machining is a manufacturing process that uses computers to automate various machine tools. The CNC machining process typically begins with a computer aided design (CAD) program, which can be used to create specifications for a component, part, or other manufactured product. This design is then turned into a series of numerical values that a CNC machine may use to move and operate a variety of tools. A part may be completed in one CNC machine or it may be moved manually or through robotic means between several workstations with different tools.
Learn MoreCNC is a subtractive manufacturing method that leverages a combination of computerized controls and machine tools to remove layers from a solid block of material. The desired cuts in the metal are programmed according to corresponding tools and machinery, which perform the machining task in an automated fashion.
Learn MoreThe primary advantages of CNC machining include rapid prototyping and the ability to produce full-scale production parts quickly. It offers a high level of precision and accuracy in manufacturing parts and allows for tight tolerance machining for CNC parts of all sizes. It also offers maximum flexibility across volume, pricing, lead times, and the range of materials and finishes being used.
Learn MoreIndustries that use CNC machining include aerospace, automotive parts manufacturing, medical machine manufacturing, transportation, defense, and marine industries, along with oil and gas industries and electronics. CNC machining has allowed these industries to become more efficient at mass-producing custom CNC parts.
Learn MoreCNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process in that it involves using cutting tools to remove material as needed to form the desired part. This approach contrasts with an additive manufacturing technology, also called 3D printing, in which material is added layer-by-layer to build up a part to its desired final form as opposed to removing material from a blank to generate it.
Learn MoreAs electronics and semiconductor technology evolved and advanced, more powerful computers in smaller footprints were developed, helping to permit the creation of more sophisticated digital programming. Building off the numerical control foundation, CNC took form and became a more powerful, adaptive, and sophisticated control mechanism that can offer highly repeatable process steps and monitor the quality of the machined workpiece to assure that it meets the dimensional tolerances of the programmed part design.
